For communication, PR and media monitoring agencies

Are your clients named when a prospect asks ChatGPT for a recommendation? That question has already started.

Every brand you manage may already appear — or fail to appear — in AI answers. Responses are influenced, differently by platform and query, by press, Wikipedia, editorial sources and the wider web. This guide explains what to measure and how to offer clients an AI-visibility service, with delivery partnership and branding options agreed in the commercial proposal.

What changes in practice

Three findings, with sources, explain why AI visibility needs a different measurement from SEO:

77%

of AI citations came from pages outside Google's top-10 in the cited study. SEO ranking alone does not predict AI citation. OrganiKPI, 153,425 citations (of 196,000+ across three studies)

0.664

is the reported correlation between branded web mentions and AI visibility: an observational signal, not proof of causation. Useful for PR planning, never a guarantee. Ahrefs, 75,000 brands

89.8%

of the brands tested received no AI mentions in that study's sample. This is a sample result, not a statistic about every brand. Victorious, 177 brands and 107,000+ prompts

Why add it to the offer

A concrete client question

"Where do we stand on ChatGPT?" can come up in a review meeting. Observable data makes the conversation more precise and adds a recurring service line.

A measurable starting point

In the Victorious sample, 89.8% of brands received no AI mentions. An initial audit shows the individual client's position and lets you follow change over time, without promising an outcome before the data exists.

It starts with work you already do

Press relations, positioning and content remain your work. MINDCEPTION adds the measurement: documented questions, cited sources and a measurement report for the client discussion.

A complement to reporting

Search KPIs describe one part of the client's visibility. AI measurement adds another view: which brands are cited, for which questions, and which sources appear in the answers.

A 10-minute test: try it yourself

Before contacting us, run this test with one client. In ten minutes, you will know whether the service fits your offer.

1

Ask ChatGPT and Perplexity the buying question

Write the typical question an end customer uses to choose in the category ("who is the best supplier of … in Italy?"). Ask it on ChatGPT, Claude, Google AI Mode and Perplexity, recording platform, date and locale. Google AI Mode may be unavailable or show a verification step: a failed attempt is not zero visibility.

2

Record who gets named — and who doesn't

Note which brands appear in the answer and which sources are cited. Repeat 3 times to check stability (answers vary).

3

Bring the result to the client

If the client stays out while competitors appear, show the result as it is: the AI names the client less often, or with less stability, in the questions you recorded. That observation becomes the starting point for the work.

What MINDCEPTION provides to the partner

1

Methodical audit

Brand + competitors across 4 AI surfaces, real category questions and documented sampling. Google API measurement is labelled as a proxy; the real Google AI Mode interface is a separate browser verification, when available. Every measurement report states method and limitations: no inflated numbers.

2

Diagnosis and sources

Why the client appears, and how consistently: Wikipedia, entities and press footprint. You also receive the sources AI cites in the category, ready to inform your media strategy.

3

3-6 month plan

Intervention derived from data: entities, earned press on the sources that appear in the answers, and answer-ready content. Testable hypotheses, never promises.

4

Monthly monitoring

Comparable monthly re-measurement, trend lines, competitor watch. The natural recurring engagement for the agency.

Measurement execution is ours; strategy and the client relationship stay yours. White-label delivery and branding options are defined in the partner proposal.

Agency FAQ

What exactly is GEO?

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) measures and improves a brand's presence in AI answers: ChatGPT, Claude, Google AI Mode, Perplexity. It works on citations inside answers, not on rankings.

Can AI citations be bought?

AI cites what the trusted web says: press, Wikipedia and editorial sources. llms.txt and schemas presented as universal solutions do not replace serious measurement. Here you get data, sources and work that can be checked.

How long and how recurring?

The audit is one-off; monthly monitoring is the recurring engagement. Measurable movement takes 3-6 months. If there's no trend at 3 months, we say so — that honesty is part of the product.

Can I present it under my agency's brand?

White-label delivery and branding options are agreed in the commercial proposal. MINDCEPTION runs measurement and diagnosis; the agency presents and manages the client.

What does the agency need to provide?

Little: brand name, category, competitors to watch, and the typical questions of end customers. We handle the rest, with documented methodology.
